What's less well-known, however, is the role that coworking is playing in revitalizing rural economies across the United States. From attracting remote workers to fueling entrepreneurship, coworking spaces are having a profound impact on small towns and rural areas. Here's a closer look at how coworking is helping to breathe new life into rural communities.    ## Fostering Entrepreneurship One of the most exciting ways that coworking is impacting rural areas is by serving as a catalyst for entrepreneurship. In many small towns, the traditional model of working for a large corporation is no longer viable. Many of these corporations have outsourced their operations to other countries or closed their doors entirely. As a result, unemployment rates in some rural areas are skyrocketing.  Coworking spaces are helping to fill this void by providing entrepreneurs with a place to work, collaborate, and network. In many cases, these spaces are also providing access to business services and resources that would otherwise be unavailable in rural areas. As a result, coworking is playing a vital role in fostering entrepreneurship and small business growth in rural America.    ## Attracting Remote Workers In addition to serving as an incubator for startups, coworking spaces are also helping to attract remote workers to rural areas. With the rise of the internet and advances in technology, more and more people are able to work from anywhere in the world. However, many of these workers are drawn to urban areas because of the greater number of amenities and opportunities that they offer.  Coworking spaces are beginning to change this dynamic by offering remote workers everything they need to live and work in rural areas. In addition to providing workspace, many of these spaces also offer access to networking opportunities and events. As a result, coworking is becoming an increasingly attractive option for remote workers who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life without sacrificing their lifestyle or income potential.    ## Profound Impact Coworking spaces are having a profound impact on rural economies across the United States. By serving as a catalyst for entrepreneurship and attracting remote workers, coworking is helping to breathe new life into small towns and rural communities. At Intersect, we strive to provide more than just the physical needs of a coworking space and really build a community to help drive economic impact in a new way for our community.  [![New call-to-action](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/20802179/3f294acf-996f-4b4f-9b2d-26cc0c992228.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/20802179/3f294acf-996f-4b4f-9b2d-26cc0c992228) ![avatar](https://www.intersectcoworking.com/hs-fs/hubfs/intterArtboard%201fiv-2-1.png?width=290&name=intterArtboard%201fiv-2-1.png) #### [Intersect Coworking and Incubator](https://www.intersectcoworking.com/blog/author/intersect-coworking-and-incubator) ## RELATED ARTICLES ### [Intersect Coworking and Incubator Feb 9, 2023, 9:00:00 AM 4 min read How to Choose a Coworking Space A coworking space is a place where people from different organizations can come together to work in a shared office ...
